To limit the increase of personal vehicles, from now to 2015, There are 12 more bus routes (from 65 routes to 77 routes) which is set new target in Hanoi, get the number of passengers moving by bus to reach 777 million passengers per year.

  To achieve this goal, in next five years, building infrastructure of public transportation by bus will be focused investment in Hanoi . Specifically: completing Kim Ma - Ha Dong route and developing six bus interchanges (Son Tay, Dong Anh, Yen Nghia, Cau Buou, Gia Thuy, Hoa Lac), building Transport management and operation centre at Kim Ma, establishing public transport management of cities to connect to the multimodal transport between urban rail with bus routes. 

  It also continues to strengthen and enhance the role and functions of State management in the public passenger transport; to review, organize, adjust comfortably the routes, expand new bus routes , industrial zones, new urban areas to serve better the needs of people’s travel demand, reducing pressure of urban traffic and reduce congestion. 

  Currently, there are 80 routes in bus network in Hanoi, include 65 subsidied routes and 15 without subsidied routes with more than 1145 buses, average transport over 1.116.000 passengers each day, supply about 9% people’s travel demand.
